Feeling Stuck?

Why This Feeling Shows Up
Feeling stuck often occurs when something familiar shifts. It can show up after a busy season ends, when a role changes, or when the pace of life slows just enough for questions to surface.
This feeling does not mean you have done something wrong. It usually means you have carried responsibility for a long time, and now there is space where certainty once lived.
That space can feel uncomfortable. It can also be an invitation.
When Identity Gets Tied to Roles
For many of us, identity quietly forms around what is needed. Being dependable, capable, and steady becomes part of how you see yourself. Over time, those roles can feel so natural that it is hard to separate who you are from what you do.
When those roles change or soften, it can feel like something important has gone missing. The question “Who am I now?” may rise without warning.
Nothing has disappeared. What you are noticing is a shift, not a loss.
What Purpose Looks Like Now
Earlier in life, purpose often came from obligation and urgency. There were clear needs to meet and expectations to fulfill. Purpose felt active and outward.
Later purpose tends to move differently. It grows from choice, curiosity, and meaning rather than pressure. It may arrive quietly, without announcements or timelines.
This version of purpose does not demand certainty. It asks for attention.
Ways to Reconnect
You do not need to reinvent yourself to reconnect with purpose. Small, honest steps matter more than big decisions. First, notice what gives you energy rather than what earns approval. Energy is often a clue to what still matters. Second, pay attention to what you linger over, even when no one is watching. These moments often point toward values that are still alive. Third, allow interest to come before commitment. Purpose does not need to be defined right away to be real. Often, clarity follows curiosity.
A Simple Check-In
Take a moment to sit with these questions. There is no need to answer them all at once.
When do you feel most like yourself lately?
What feels complete in your life right now?
What feels unfinished, but not urgent?
Let your responses be honest rather than polished. Insight often comes through gentleness.
One Small Step
You do not need a full plan to move forward. You only need permission to listen.
You are not late. You are not behind. You are in a different season, one that invites intention rather than urgency.
This week, choose one small action that reflects who you are now, not who you used to be. It can be simple. What matters is that it feels true to you.
Purpose often returns when you stop chasing it and start allowing it to unfold
