Summer Brings about Growth and Confidence

Showing Up for Yourself
Showing Up for Yourself

When Your Efforts Finally Begin to Take Root

Summer, in our personal journey, arrives when the things we’ve been tending begin to show signs of life. It doesn’t always look dramatic. Sometimes it’s a shift in how we speak to ourselves. Sometimes it’s a pattern we’re slowly outgrowing. Sometimes it’s confidence that appears in small, steady ways.

Summer is the season of showing up, not perfectly, but consistently. It’s the time when we move from curiosity into practice, and we start to see ourselves building something, even if it still feels a little messy.

Trusting Yourself a Little More Each Day

One of the gifts of this season is that confidence doesn’t have to be loud. It doesn’t need applause. It grows quietly through repeated choices, the “I’m going to try again” moments, the “I think I can do this” moments, the “that wasn’t perfect, but it’s okay” moments.

For many of us over 50, Summer looks like:

  • Returning to a project we once set aside

  • Learning a skill slowly and at our own pace

  • Showing up for ourselves when it would be easier not to

  • Allowing progress to count even when it’s not visible to others

Summer encourages us to trust the work we’re doing. It reminds us that progress doesn’t need to be fast or flawless. It only needs to be honest.

Letting Growth Be Messy and Real

Growth at this stage of life isn’t about chasing achievement. It’s about living in alignment with who we’re becoming. Summer helps us strengthen the habits, choices, and patterns that support this new direction.

This season invites us to:

  • Keep going even when confidence feels uneven

  • Allow small wins to matter

  • Notice the difference between pressure and progress

  • Build routines that feel sustainable, not draining

  • Believe that growth is still happening, even on quieter days

Summer isn’t the polished season; it’s the working season. The tending season. The one where we lean into our efforts and trust that something meaningful is forming beneath the surface.

And even when doubt creeps in, Summer reassures us that we’re not starting from scratch. We’re building on every choice, every moment of curiosity, every step we took in Spring.
